Chopin, Letter from Valldemossa

Chopin was suffering from hallucinations when he wrote this prelude.

One night, when he was alone in his room during a thunderstorm, he was playing piano and it sounded as if his playing echoed the sound of the thunderstorm.

This little known piece of Rachmaninov follows a poem by Ekaterina Andreyena Beketova:

"In the morning, at daybreak, over the dewy grass, I will go to breathe the crisp dawn;

and in the fragrant shade, where the lilac crowds, I will go to seek my happiness.

In life, only one happiness it was fated for me to discover, and that happiness lives in the lilacs;

in the green boughs, in the fragrant bunches, my poor happiness blossoms."

Ezio Bosso: Following a bird

"La musica non è solo un linguaggio ma una trascendenza, che è ciò che ci porta oltre. I silenzi hanno un suono, anche in musica. Non esiste l'ultima nota, è un dato di fatto. Perché l'ultima nota che suona uno strumento è la nota che inizia l'altro"

Have you ever heard of the Voyager Golden Record?

The idea behind the concept of ABYSS was to continue the splendidly told journey of the astronomer Carl Sagan in his famous series "Cosmos",

musicising some of his most inspired passages, and looking for a personal existentialist reading key, in the context of the correlative objective that permeates my compositions.

On this page you can preorder the album in the only physical edition that I will make.
